High-Resolution Condition Assessment of Force Mains
For customers who can not inspect their forces mains with our internal tools, RTI offers the Bracelet Probe external rapid scanning technique. If used strategically (for instance, near air-release valves, or at high points on the line), this tool can rapidly detect and quantify H2S damage inside the pipe. The Bracelet Probe (BP) technology quickly and easily adapts to any size of ductile-iron, cast iron or steel pipe, starting at 6' diameter. The BP contains high resolution sensors that cover a 10'' wide scan path along the outside of the pipe. Wall-loss data is displayed as colour maps and strip charts (see screen capture at below) as the probe is being scanned. These make it easy to see and understand the degree of H2S damage, including pits, graphitic corrosion And corrosion- erosion damage. If you have a large diameter force mains that you cannot run one of our in-line inspection tools through, the external Bracelet technique is a good option for you.
